Recipe Cloud LLC (“Recipe Cloud,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you access or use the Recipe Cloud website, mobile applications, browser extension, and related services (collectively, the “Services”).

By using the Services, you acknowledge that your information will be handled as described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please do not use the Services.

Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly to us, information collected automatically when you use the Services, and information we receive from third parties in connection with the Services.

Information You Provide to Us

We may collect information you provide when you create an account, update your profile, use the Services, contact us, or otherwise interact with Recipe Cloud, including:

account information, such as your name, username, display name, email address, password, and profile details;
profile and preference information, such as your region, language preferences, preferred measurement units, diet preferences, avoidances, nutrition preferences, cooking experience, favorite cuisines, and cooking techniques;
content you create, upload, save, organize, or share through the Services, such as recipes, recipe titles, ingredients, instructions, notes, photos, collections, books, meal plans, grocery lists, comments, and similar content;
information you provide when contacting us for customer support, feedback, or other communications;
information you provide when participating in surveys, promotions, contests, or other optional features we may make available; and
subscription and billing-related information, such as your subscription status, renewal or cancellation information, billing history, and related account or transaction identifiers.

Information We Collect Automatically

When you access or use the Services, we and our service providers may automatically collect certain information, including:

device and browser information, such as your IP address, browser type, operating system, app version, device identifiers, language settings, and similar technical information;
usage information, such as pages viewed, features used, links clicked, referring and exit pages, approximate location derived from IP address, and dates and times of access;
session, cookie, and similar technology information used to support authentication, security, preferences, analytics, and other Service functionality; and
event and interaction data relating to how you use recipes, collections, shopping tools, subscription features, and other parts of the Services.

Information We Receive from Third Parties

We may receive information from third parties when necessary to operate the Services or support related features, including:

payment processors and app marketplaces in connection with subscriptions and billing;
analytics, geolocation, security, fraud prevention, and infrastructure providers;
third-party services you choose to interact with through the Services, such as Instacart or similar integrations; and
websites or services from which you ask us to import recipes or other content.

How We Use Information

We may use the information we collect to:

provide, operate, maintain, and improve the Services;
create and manage user accounts;
store and sync your recipes, collections, meal plans, grocery lists, preferences, and related content;
process recipe imports, URL-based saves, browser extension saves, and related content organization features;
provide public, private, social, search, discovery, recommendation, category, and follower-related features of the Services;
process subscriptions, purchases, renewals, cancellations, and related customer support;
communicate with you about your account, support requests, service updates, security issues, and administrative matters;
send promotional or marketing communications, subject to your choices and applicable law;
measure, analyze, and improve product usage, engagement, performance, and feature adoption;
support advertising, sponsored content, affiliate features, and related reporting and measurement;
detect, investigate, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, unauthorized access, security incidents, and violations of our Terms of Service; and
comply with legal obligations, enforce our agreements, and protect Recipe Cloud, our users, and others.

Public Content and Privacy Settings

Recipe Cloud includes features that allow you to make recipes, collections, profile information, and related content public or private.

If you choose to make content public or otherwise share it through the Services, that content may be visible to other users and may appear in profiles, feeds, categories, follower views, search results, recommendations, featured sections, and other social or discovery features of the Services.

If you choose to keep content private, we will not make that content publicly available through those features, except as necessary to operate the Services, provide the feature you selected, comply with applicable law, enforce our agreements, or protect the Services and our users.

You are responsible for choosing the privacy settings that are appropriate for your content and account.

Recipe Imports and User-Submitted Content

Recipe Cloud allows users to save, organize, and work with recipe and food-related content from a variety of sources.

If you ask Recipe Cloud to import or save a recipe or other content from a third-party website or URL, we may retrieve and process information from that source, such as page content, metadata, images, ingredients, recipe instructions, and related information, in order to provide the requested functionality.

When you use this feature, the third-party website or service may be able to see that a request was made from systems used to operate the Services. Imported or user-submitted content may be stored, processed, and displayed within the Services in accordance with your settings and our Terms of Service.

Payments and Subscriptions

If you purchase a subscription or other paid feature through the Services, payment information may be collected and processed by third-party payment processors or app marketplaces, such as Stripe or Apple, in accordance with their own privacy policies and terms. Recipe Cloud generally does not store full payment card details.

We may store and use limited subscription and billing-related information, such as subscription status, renewal dates, transaction identifiers, customer identifiers, plan type, cancellation information, and expiration information, for account management, billing support, fraud prevention, and related operational purposes.

Cookies, Analytics, Advertising, and Similar Technologies

We and our service providers may use cookies, session cookies, local storage, pixels, tags, scripts, and similar technologies to:

keep you signed in and maintain secure sessions;
remember preferences and settings;
support core site and app functionality;
measure traffic, usage, and performance;
understand how users interact with the Services;
support advertising, sponsored content, affiliate features, and related reporting; and

For example, if you choose to interact with Instacart through the Services, information such as recipe titles, ingredient lists, images, and related link or source information may be shared as necessary to support that functionality. Other third-party services may also receive information when required to provide integrated features, process payments, support analytics, support sponsored or affiliate content, or operate parts of the Services.

We do not control third-party privacy practices and encourage you to review the privacy policies of those third parties.

Browser Extension and Platform-Specific Features

Recipe Cloud may offer browser extensions, mobile applications, or other platform-specific features that collect or access information necessary to provide their functionality.

For example, a browser extension may access page content, recipe data, or page URLs on supported websites when you choose to use the extension to save or process content. Information collected through such features may be stored on your device, transmitted to Recipe Cloud, or processed by our service providers as necessary to provide the feature, authenticate your account, or sync content across the Services.

Platform providers, such as the Chrome Web Store or Apple App Store, may also collect information under their own terms and privacy policies.

How We Share Information

We may disclose information as follows:

to our employees, contractors, service providers, and subprocessors who need the information to operate, support, secure, improve, or provide the Services;
to payment processors, app marketplaces, analytics providers, security providers, cloud and infrastructure providers, communications providers, and other vendors that support the Services;
to third-party services you choose to interact with through the Services;
in connection with advertising, affiliate, sponsored, or promotional content and related reporting;
to comply with law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request;
to enforce our Terms of Service or other agreements;

We do not sell personal information for money in the ordinary sense of the word “sell.” However, depending on applicable law, some advertising, analytics, or partner-related data sharing may be considered a “sale” or “sharing” under certain privacy laws.

Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including to provide the Services, maintain your account, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, prevent abuse, and protect the Services.

We may retain certain information after account deletion or closure where reasonably necessary for legal, regulatory, tax, accounting, security, fraud prevention, backup, archival, or enforcement purposes. Cached, archived, and backup copies may persist for a period of time after deletion.

Security

Recipe Cloud takes reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, use, alteration, or disclosure. However, no security measure or method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

International Transfers

Recipe Cloud and its service providers may process, store, or access information in the United States and other countries that may have data protection laws different from those in your jurisdiction. By using the Services, you understand that your information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in countries outside your place of residence, subject to applicable law.

Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information, which may include the right to:

request access to the personal information we hold about you;
request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information;
request deletion of your personal information;
request a copy of certain information in a portable format;
object to or request restriction of certain processing;

If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without appropriate authorization, we will take reasonable steps to delete that information.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

Recipe Cloud may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make changes, we will post the updated Privacy Policy and revise the “Last Updated” date above. Your continued use of the Services after the effective date of the updated Privacy Policy constitutes your acknowledgment of the updated policy, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
